LOVIN’ THURSDAY!

Everyone in the office today are very much in the mood because it’s Thursday! It’s always like that, we are much energized every Thursday and walang makakasira ng mood namin especially ng mood ko. It’s just simply because I am too excited for Friday, my one and only REST (?) day in a week. I am one of those employees here in Dubai that’s not blessed with 2 days off. I remember during my first months here at work, I’m ALWAYS as in ALWAYS sick every Thursday. I think it’s because of over excitement for my day off haha! Imagine naman, I’m waking up at 6:15 AM for 6 days a week! What can be more terrible than that?? So that explains why I am always in an excellent mood every Thursday (last day of the week) and in irk mood every Saturday (first day of the week).

For this particular Thursday, together with my Pinay kiriray friends/officemates, we are very much in the mood to paint our face ;) Since bosses are net yet around, we stayed for almost one hour in the powder room and had our make up done.

I am very happy to share you my “no make-up” make-up look today.
For the foundation, I used Revlon ColorStay Active Light Make up in Natural Beige color. A smooth and light coverage that seems very lasting. It’s looks very natural too. Totally fab find!

In my eyes is Revlon ColorStay Brown Liquid Liner. I have a talent in putting this on my own. Buti na lang hindi ako pasmado =) Eversince, I really love liquid liner because it makes my eyes brighter. But I was using black color before, not until Cel showed me this brown liner na bonggang bongga! I was supposed to put mascara as well but I think it’ll make my eyes too strong and heavy. I didn’t put eye shadow too, it’s just all the liner. Simple and easy!
For a natural, blushing cheek, I put this ever reliable “pretty when pinched” check tint from Her Bench. It’s oil free, non sticky, long lasting and very quick to apply. Cheektint is one of my must haves. Thanks Lord for this wonderful creation! No more pale me.
To cover up my facial marks, blemishes and this annoying pimple right at the tip of my nose, I used Revlon ColorStay Under Eye Concealer. It’s supposed to be applied in under eye circles but I used it instead as a concealer. Did you notice the pimple I’m talking about?
For my lips, I used Prestige’s Brown Sugar Classic Lipstick for that very natural look.

Thanks Mae and Mace for the great make up session with you! Next time ulit! =)

CELEBRATIONS IN DUBAI: DONG’S BIRTHDAY!

Ohmi!! I didn’t notice this entry in my drafts, it’s been there for quite a long time now. 2 months lang, matagal na ba yun? Haha! Dong I am very sorry for posting this too LATE =)
This happened kasi during those times that I was too busy and occupied of Mimay’s coming in Dubai.

Woooo Nani!! Enough of your explanations, OA pa rin sa pagka-late bday post ni Dong!

Sowi Tito Bay! (Nani in pa-awa face)
 Celebrant: Rey Oliver Jaca
a.k.a: Dong or Mimay’s Tito Bay
Age: Very blooming at 28! Hindi halata no? ;)
Birthday: November 19
Favorites: The weirdest food on earth: sinigang sa bayabas with fried tilapia (ulk!)
Let me share what we had on that night of November 18.

Ang walang kamatayang SPAGHETTI – walang kamatayan nga eh db? And it’s Dong’s all time favorite or I should say, it’s 101’s ultimate favorite. And I’m starting to become a fan too. I love Jay’s and my bibi’s cooking!
Ang walang kamatayang partner ng spaghetti, LUMPIANG SHANGHAI – walang kamatayan nga ulit eh db? Kidding aside, this is again our personal request to the celebrant. We love lumpiang shanghai in white garlic sauce. Perfect!
PORK CALDERETA, PORK KALDERETA – whatever you call it! Panalo to! Sauce pa lang, ulam na! Nyummmy!
BAKED HAWAIAN PRAWNS – this is Jay’s experimental dish. Prawns rolled in bacon and oven baked with pineapple. Super duper sarap!
And the HOME BAKED CHOCOLATE BIRTHDAY CAKE – Baked and decorated by Len and Lyn. The personalized topper is so cute no? That’s because we love Dong!
The theme of Dong’s birthday celebration is HIP HOP to match the celebrant’s personality. Kaso ang nilabasan eh mukha kaming mongoloid lahat! Haha!
BEST IN MONGOLOID award, 3rd runners up: The newly weds, Eric and Len
2nd runners up: Carlita and Margarita
At syempre ang bumibida sa lahat ng okasyon sa 101, ang best in costume always, hindi sya palaging prepared. Applause for our very own…
MONGOLOIDAL BERT! Haha peace bert!

Aside from the super hearty dinner we had, what makes this night very special is, it was so far the most memorable birthday celebration for us and most especially for Dong. For as far as we believe, this is the start of us seeing ‘Dong at his finest’. Always smiling, happy and very blooming.

This photo is the start of everything, 101% sweet!
We will all be waiting for what is instore in the future. Goodluck Tito Bay and Tita Ju-Anne! We all wish you happiness.

Belated happy birthday Dong! We love yah mwaach mwaach!!

ERIC AND LEN’S FAB WEDDING

Our good friends Eric and Len finally tied the knot exactly on their 6th year bf/gf anniversary. How sweet is that? Just too bad we’re not there to celebrate and party with them. But from the preparations to prayers, we have been a part of this wonderful celebration of love!
Ceremony was held in the famous Caleruega Church in Batangas on the cold morning of December 23, 2010.

Here is the dashing groom Eric in his black suit:

The entourage wore a sunny yellow dress to perfectly fit the couple’s bright personality.
And the ever beautiful bride Len in her princess ball wedding gown while walking to the tune of “The First Time I Loved Forever” Goosebumps!
This is Len’s equally pretty sister Paneng as the Maid of Honor
...and the handsome Best Man, Jay... my dear mimay’s first love haha! Yari kay Tita Cal! ;p
Here’s our pretty Lyn, one of the bridesmaids with her soon to be groom, Win. Ssel on the rightmost, Len’s brother, is part of the entourage as well. Sa pula nyang hair, hindi sya prepared!
Here are some kilig church photos taken from Lyn’s D90 by Win. Official wedding photos by Smartshot will be posted here too, soon!
Reception was held at the Sampaguita Ballroom in Taal Vista Hotel, Tagaytay City.

Have a glimpse of their on-site Video by Smartshot, click!click! and their “growing-up” photo compilation personally prepared by the bride herself.

Len and Eric, you are truly perfect for each other but life isn’t perfect that’s why you have each other to withstand all the storms of life. Have a blessed marriage! We are looking forward for little LenRic soon! Congratulations!

WEIGHT ISSUES...AGAIN!

Here I go again with my weight issues. Kayo na kumain ng rice 3x a day with in between snacks, mag dine out for 3-4 times a week, mag mumog ng softdrinks at gawing cornick ang chocolates, tingnan natin kung hindi kayo tumaba.

When Mimay came here in Dubai, I temporarily forgo of my dieting churvas. I don’t want to deprive myself. Ang hirap kaya nung iti-treat ko sila to eat out tapos ako nakatingin lang kasi diet ako? And having a super hyperactive daughter like Mimay, gutom na gutom ako lagi talaga. Plus I stopped working out, feeling ko it’s a waste of time instead of just spending it playing with Mimay.
during one of our gluttony night!

ikaw ang dahilan ng lahat!
And the obvious result: I’m back at 59 kgs! With a 5’3” height, hindi ito maganda!
Me while taking my actual weight in our company’s weighing scale.
nasisilaw and depress at the same time
zoom it baby! it's surely 59!
I don’t want to promise, but AGAIN, I’ll TRY to control and limit my intake. Try lang ;)

I WANNA STOP

…counting!

If you noticed in my previous blog entries, when Mimay and Naynay came here in Dubai, I started posting blogs about our weekly escapades. It’s more of a photoblog summarizing all our Dubaiventures. But after 4 weeks, I felt that this is also coming like a countdown to my grief that’s why I stopped. I don’t want to count the weeks anymore. Although it seems very impossible as long as my kalendaryo sa mundo! Hayz ;’(
We only have 38 days remaining with our daughter, more than 5 weeks left for us to be with her. Iniisip ko pa lang parang hindi na ko makahinga sa lungkot. As much as I want her to stay here with us, situations are difficult as of now. Nobody will take care of Mimay since Naynay had to be back in Pinas for many reasons. One of those is that her visa will soon end. Husband and I are both not comfortable in getting a nanny here for Mimay. Kawawa yung yaya I’m sure! And Mimay will surely look for her Naynay din. So it would be very unfair for Mimay coz we’re out for almost 12 hours a day.
I just pray that God will move miraculously in our family. Whatever HIS will be done.

Bro, ikaw na po ang bahala. We are entrusting everything to you. We trust you. Just please give me tons of strength. Wag naman po sana ako maloka pagbalik ni ineng sa Pinas.  Please Lord show me and Poy that your plans are always great. And most of all, I pray Lord that everything will be alright for Mimay too. Wag sana sya ma confuse sa mga nangyayari. I pray that she will not get mad to us for putting her in this kind of situation. Lastly po, will it be possible for us to win a house and lot in Pinas and a scholarship for Mimay’s Aviation Course so that we don’t have to stay here long? Thanks po. Amen.

SOME MORE FAB BUYS FOR MY DALAGA

Here are some more proof that I am a sobrang changed person na talaga. Shopping is now always about Jemimah.

Blouses, skirt and shorts were all from Max dahil their on SALE =)
See how cute they are with our Mimay:
While this super cute feeding set is from Ikea. Nice nice design no? My baby hasn’t seen this yet kasi she was sleeping when we bought this. But I’m sure she’ll love this.
I’m so excited for this year’s DSF (Dubai Shopping Festival) which will commence on January 20 and will last for 32 days. Apart from tax-free shopping, huge discounts will be everywhere in Dubai. Oh I’m losing my composure here!

POTTY TRAINING NO MORE

Even before Mimay’s coming here in Dubai, one of my major plans is to potty train her the soonest possible time. It’s a big step for a toddler like her and for a first time mom like me. I want to be a major part of this very special milestone in her life. I was planning to get her a potty chair when one of my friends told me that Mimay’s too young for toilet training. I can start it daw when she’s like 2.5 yrs old or older. This was supported by the facts I read from www.mayoclinic.com. There’s no need to rush it or else potty training will only take longer. So I just brushed off the idea of this potty training and thought to just wait for the right time.

One time, I called from office to naynay’s mobile to check on Mimay.
Nani: Hello mi, musta po si ineng?
Naynay: Naku nani mamya ka na tumawag, hawak ko si Mimay napupu dito sa toilet baka mahulog.
Mimay in background: Mamee mamee mamee!!
Nani: Ha? Sa toilet bowl na po napupu si Mimay???
Naynay: Oo naman, tagal na. Sige na bye!

I was like, huh?! Ako mommy pero di ko alam na sa toilet bowl na pala napupu anak ko?! This is because Mimay’s pooping schedule is during morning time while I am in the office. And during my off days, hindi naman sya napupu or hindi ko lang nanonotice. Hay this is what you get for being a working mom.

After confirming from my mommy, I learned that Mimay has been defecating in the toilet since she came here in Dubai last November. She was 1 year and 7 months pa lang that time! I was really surprised!
Nani: Mi na-potty train mo na po si ineng? Kelan pa?
Naynay: Potty train? Malay ko, ano ba yun?

Hindi ko na inexplain further dahil baka maloka lang ako kay naynay. What’s important is that my baby learned to use the toilet on her own! Ang bongga db? As in she never poops on her diapers anymore. She would call me, her naynay or her dadee’s attention when she wants to go to the toilet. Clap clap clap for my baby girl!
Dearest anak,
Mamee’s so proud of you! You’re really a big girl now (sigh!). Not too fast my dear ha? Baka di makahabol si mamee and dadee =) We love you baby!
