ANG XBOX, BOW!

After office yesterday, Carl was so giddy about something. Carl is my super friendship, kumare, house mate, kikay mate and bus mate here in Dubai. Sya yung karibal ng anak ko kay darling Jay. Remember?

Carl: Nani excited ako! (full smile)

Nani: Saan?

Carl: Ang bait ni Jay, binili ako ng Xbox!

Nani: Ah!

Carl: Oo! Kinukuha na nya ngayun!

Nani: Saya!

I know, I’m not the kind of person who will react with just a word. I was never a “single word person”. Ang daldal ko kaya. But last night was different, wala akong masabi talaga. You know why?? EH ANO BA KASI YUNG XBOX?!?!

Yan ang dahilan. How will I react to something I don’t know?? Na carried away kasi ako sa excitement ni Carl kaya di ko na natanong beforehand. Good thing we had the chance to be seated next to each other so gradually I asked her, neng ano ba yung Xbox? Wahahahaha!!! (jahe oh!)

For all techie idiots like me, this is the Xbox. It’s like a DVD player where you can play games without a controller or any gadgets. Bongga sya! You play and control games with your hands alone. It has a motion sensor churva that sense your body movements even at 6 feet away from the screen. Galing!                   

And so after dinner last night, bininyagan agad namin ang Xbox. Yeeesss nakiki xbox na rin ako! Feeling haha! We played Kinect Sports. This game is a collection of sports including bowling, track and field, boxing, volleyball, soccer, table tennis and other mini games like javelin throw, disc throw, long jump, etc.

I love this Xbox! Ang sakit ng katawan ko kaninang umaga but it’s all worth it! Mamaya ulet! =)

NANIPOY HONEYMOON PART 1: PALAWAN

The other day, I chanced upon my Multiply account which I thought is not existing already. Naaliw ako while browsing all the photos and at the same time na-depress. Shucks ang liit pa ng braso ko nun! Napaisip tuloy ako bigla if there will come a time kaya that my ‘now flabby arms’ will shrink back to what it was before??

Moving on, I realized that I wasn’t able to share here in my blog our honeymoon. At ngaun na nakita ko na our honeymoon photos, manawa kayo haha! This post will be photo heavy so please bear with me. Tingnan nyo ang payat ko pa dito! Those were the days…

This will be the part 1 of my 2 series honeymoon kwento.

Just a day after our wedding, wala ng pahinga pahinga, Poy and I went for our first lamyerda as Mr and Mrs Aguilar. Excited akong pumirma anywhere because now I’ll be signing na as Jhanil Aguilar and not Jhanil Cruz. Kilig!

Our first destination, Puerto Princesa Palawan. During the wedding planning stage, Poy and I were thinking to spend our HM in Hongkong. We haven’t been there pa, actually until now hindi pa. I want to personally meet Mickey Mouse sana hehe. But as per my friends’ advice, it wouldn’t be romantic to spend our HM in HK. Puro shopping and gala lang daw gagawin namin dun. Hindi relaxing and parang walang quiet time. So with that, we opted for Palawan-Bohol destination instead. And the HK trip? We’re saving it with our dearest Jemimah. Soon soon soon!

Early morning of June 11, we’re off to Puerto Princesa via Cebu Pacific.

Prior our trip, I have already contacted and arranged a tour package with Kawayanan Resort located in the city of Puerto Princesa. The resort was very serene and cozy. Staffs are extra attentive. We didn’t have to wait in the airport because the driver of Kawayanan was already in the waiting area with a placard that says “Mr and Mrs Aguilar”. Upon arriving at the resort, we were immediately served cold drinks.

This is our spacious room. It has a separate living room with TV and a sofa set. Bedroom is very clean and mabango. The toilet is nice too and it has heater which made me happy. I don’t bathe without hot water, kahit summer pa yan. One of my many abnormalities lol!

We stayed in the resort for 4 days and 3 nights for an affordable price of Php 12,000 for 2pax already. This package is really sulit because it already includes the Underground River, Honda bay and City tours! Oh db ang bongga? They also have an outdoor pool where you can lounge and relax. 

Kawayanan also serves delicious food at reasonable prices. You can never go wrong with their tapsilog ang longsilog for breakfast. Resort’s staffs also offered to cook meals for us for a fee of P50 per ulam only. They suggested that we visit the nearest public market and try Palawan’s prawns, crabs and lobsters then they will cook it for us. Ay di ko yan palalampasin! And their right, sea foods there are so fresh and cheap! Ang lobster kaya sa Mall of Asia P3,500 per kilo dito P300 lang ata! Kung pwede lang maguwi ako ng balde baldeng lobster haaay!

After we finish all these, we immediately ordered pineapple juice dahil nanakit ng bonggang bongga ang aming mga batok! Highblood it is! Mga PG kasi haha!

The next day, off we went to Honda Bay for island hopping. We rode the pump boats and visit several islets such as Pandan, Snake and Starfish islands and experienced swimming and snorkeling in the blue green beaches of Palawan. Grabe you can see fishes in the shallow part pa lang. It was so beautiful there!

We had dinner after in the famous Ka Lui’s Restaurant. It was a unique dining experience for me and Poy because we enter the restaurant barefoot. Yes as in yapak kami while eating. We tried their crabs and seafoods sisig. The best!

The following day we went to Underground River. This is the part of the trip where I am most excited of. This is nominated as one of the 7 wonders of the world eh so I was really expecting a lot from it. And I am so right, boat ride pa lang going there was already breathtaking! There were a lot of greens and the mountain scenery was picture perfect. I cannot believe myself first na may ganun pala talagang kagandang lugar sa Pinas.

When we reach the shore, we walk to the wooden path going to the river. Then ride an 8 seater boat and experienced the most wonderful journey inside the river. It also helps that we have a good tourist guide who shared different stories for every rock, stalactite and stalagmite inside the dark river. Our trip inside the river was really one of a kind. All the memories were still fresh until now.

On our last day, we get to explore the beautiful city of Puerto Princesa. Our itineraries include Crocodile Farm, Iwahig Prison, Butterfly Farm, Baker’s Hill and Sen. Mitra’s ranch.

Look at my arms and waist here! Homaygod! You think it’s impossible for me to be back in this shape again?! Hindi na?? Seriously?!

 

Osha, that ends the part 1 of this honeymoon post. Truly memorable! For all the newly weds out there looking for a great HM experience, Palawan is the place to be. Try to schedule the tours once per day lang so that you get ample time after with your hubby to cuddle and truly enjoy your honeymoon in every sense of the word, just like what we did. Wink! ;)

Watch out for the second part. Straight from Palawan, we headed to the beautiful city of Bohol! Itinodo na talaga namin, minsa lang payagan ng long days leave eh hehe =)

SUPERB DAD

Last night, while we were on the bus on our way home, Mimay was extra grouchy. My mom said she wasn’t able to take her afternoon nap hence her mood. Poy immediately scoop up Mimay and played with her. Mimay behaved for a while because her Dadee was entertaining her with his tricks. Suddenly, Mimay bawled asking for milk, then water, then candy, then milk again… repeat this scenario 20 times. Kaloka right? But you know what? Poy never gets mad. He just kept on dancing and dancing to Mimay’s delight.

When we reached home, Poy got Mimay’s used feeding bottles and cleaned ‘em up, while me and Mimay prepare for our quick shower. After sometime, Poy came in too inside the bathroom and made asikaso his baby. Sleeping time came, I saw my mag-ama playing and singing in the bed together. Then after a while, I heard Poy leading the prayer with Mimay then softly tapping her to sleep. In the middle of the night, Mimay woke up asking for milk. Poy immediately stood up and handed the milk to our daughter. At 5am, Poy woke up again to change Mimay’s soiled diapers.

I know I have mentioned countless times here in my blog how blessed I am for having the most loving husband on earth. But you know, he is more than that. I just feel so so much more blessed for having a husband who’s a superb dad at the same time. Ma drama as it may sound pero naiiyak ako thinking how lucky can I get for having Poy. I might be doing something really really good in the eyes of the Lord for giving this wonderful guy to me.  

I love you so much bibi. “Thank you” is an understatement to let you know how grateful I am everyday for having you. My life wouldn’t be the same without you.

Mimay anak, one day I know you will come to realize too that you are one fortunate and blessed baby for having your Dadee. When the time comes that you will have a boyfriend (pag mga 40 ka na), please look for someone like your dad and for sure, you’ll get 2 thumbs up from Mamee.

MIMAY IN SAGADA

Thanks to my beloved sister for commenting in my blog entry about Mimay’s first out of town trips. I stand corrected. Baguio and Batangas were not the first out of town trips of our dearest Mimay. But it was in the beautiful place of Sagada! Juday-Piolo movie remember that? =)

Sagada is a peaceful village located in the Mountain Province, roughly 14 hour trip from Laguna, which is famous for their cold weather, caves, hanging coffins, mountains and lemon meringue pie! The view down the valley will make you utter countless ooohhhs and aaahhhs! It was really beautiful there. We went around October and boy it was really cold! Isang beses lang ata ako naligo haha!

We stayed in George’s Guest House, which according to the net, is the most colorful and garish building in town.

This is before we went to our scheduled itineraries. We filled our tummies with fried rice, tuyo, scrambled egg and adobo for breakfast. Yummy!

With me in this trip were: my Ate Chelo, her husband Kuya dong (which happens to be the photographer most of the time), my lakwacherang mommy, my poging poging bibi and of course our Mimay which is inside my tummy at 3 months! Hehe. So my ate’s right di ba? This is Mimay’s first out of town trip! Astig! =)

Luckily, we get to experience the Saturday Market in Sagada, where the local farmers, producers and vendors sell fresh fruits and vegetable in their poblacion. Everything was fresh and cheap, libre tikim pa!

Lemme show you some of our pictures from our Sagada trip which I was able to retrieve from my ‘almost non- existing’ multiply account. Kulang kulang nga lang.

Next, we went to Calvalry Hill and to the well-known Echo Valley. The view was fantastic! The almost 2hours hike and steep cliffs are all worth it! Mimay anak, we did it! =)

Our next stop is the Bomod-ok Falls. The steps going down the falls seems to be never ending but nevertheless, the scenery in the famous Big Falls is truly breath taking. The trek itself was very strenuous lalo na yung pabalik yet very exciting! Feel na feel ko ang aking pagiging adventurous sa experience na to! Ikaw na, 3 months buntis pero nakapag hiking pa! Laban?! ;)

The next day, off we went to the most exciting part of our trip, Sumaguing Cave! On our way pa lang to the cave’s entrance, my heart was pounding with so much excitement and kaba. Sayang lang because I can’t show you our actual photos inside the cave. I don’t know why I wasn’t able to upload them in my multiply account before. I think they’re in my friendster account.

The experience was super thrilling! We trek and sit-walk in dark, big, slippery rocks and rapel at 90 degrees limestone walls! It was super cold inside the cave!

I borrowed some photos in the net so that you can imagine my kalokahan doing all the climbing and rapelling inside the Sumaguing cave while I was 3 months preggy with our Mimay. Please don’t raise your eyebrows, I was extra careful naman the whole time ;

We were so mesmerized by the beautiful limestone formation inside the cave. Ang ganda ganda ganda sobra!

Last stop is the hanging coffins. Ok lang the experience. Very unique coz this is the only place where you can see coffins hanging in the cliff. But it was eerie seeing them. Di ko masyado type.

Sagada is surely a worth visiting place. It’s one of the most ‘action-packed’ trip that I’ve ever been to, the most challenging and one of the most unforgettable because it’s our Mimays first ever trip while she’s inside Mamee’s tummy! =)

DENTAL PROBLEM

Last Friday night, Mimay wasn’t feeling well because of her bulok front teeth. Ang sakit daw and she can’t drink her milk. She was crying so much which made her vomit big time. As in with trajectory. She’s like that when she cries heavily, she vomits. Then by Saturday morning, she woke up looking like a chipmunk because her upper gum is already swollen.  

I forgot to take photo when Mimay’s gum was engorged to the highest level. This shot was taken when she was feeling a little better na. But still, iba itsura nya no?

I decided not to come for work yesterday. I am so worried of her. I am in battle now whether to bring Mimay to a dentist to extract all her front four upper teeth or not. I spoke to a Filipino dentist just this morning and he told me that Mimay needs to be sedated if incase we decided to let go of her upper teeth because she will surely not behave given her young age. But I’m kinda hesitant of the sedation procedure. I’m anxious what if she stops breathing? What if she’ll get allergic reactions? What if she will not regain her consciousness? Nakaka praning! I think Mimay’s too young to experience that. But the other side of me can’t also take it seeing my daughter cry in pain. Kung pwede lang ngipin ko na lang ang sumakit hay!

Right now, hubby and I decided to observe first because last night Mimay’s active na ulit and she was able to eat and drink her milk again. We will just ban her from eating sweets and we’ll impose to her a strict brushing schedule.  Hopefully, her teeth will not act up crazy again. Ako ang maloloka pag naiyak na si Mimay eh.

She’s back to her normal happy self but the swelling is still there.

This is exactly the reason why we want Mimay to stay with us or me staying for good in Pinas. In situation like this, we want her to know and feel that Mamee and Dadee care and love her to bits.
