MAMEE BONDING

I will surely miss these moments with my dearest baby…
Love you so much Jemimah Philisse!

I WANT TWINS TOO!

I’m sure among my hundred blog entries, this will be my husband’s favorite. Because for the first time since we had Mimay, he will hear something about me wanting to have our “next” baby. Allergic kasi ako pag yun ang topic. It’s not that I don’t want to have our 2nd baby, I just don’t want it NOW, for many reasons.

But when I saw the photos of the newly born twins of my dear friend, Wie Ramos, parang biglang gusto ko na sundan si Mimay pero dapat twins din! ;)

Wie is one my best bud in First Sumiden, the first company I joined 3 weeks after my college graduation. She was one my confidant during the kasikatan of Poy-Nani loveteam in Sumiden haha! (feeling!) She can actually be the president of our fans club that’s why I love her deeply.

Last February 3, Wie and Louie’s precious twins Luis Xantheus “Xanti” and Louise Xemirah “Xeiah” were born through a Caesarean operation at Sta Monica Hospital weighing 5.9 lbs and 4.4 lbs respectively.
They are so cute and very adorable! On the left is Xanti and on the right is Xeiah.
Here naman is the happy Mommy Wie with her baby girl Xeiah.
And the happy Daddy Louie with his baby boy Xanti.
Unique their names no? I super like them. Luis is from Daddy Louie’s name while Xantheus means a strong, intelligent and capable person. While Louise naman is the female version/spelling of Louie and Xemirah means a joyous melody.

Congratulations new parents Wie and Louie! You are truly blessed to have Xanti and Xeiah. Take good care of them and be the best parent for them.

Ok, that explains why I suddenly changed my mind and PARANG (parang pa lang though) biglang gusto ko na sundan si Mimay. I want to have twins too! I told hubby that our friend gave birth to a twin. He was excited too sabay sabi “Bi gawa din tayo ng twins?” Sabi ko na, dun pupunta topic =) And to prove that, as I write this blog I receive an email from him.

Oh db nakakaloka ang asawa ko? =)

But seriously, I am starting to contemplate on how to conceive twins naturally. Maybe there are things to be done to increase the chances and baka yung twice a day na sinasabi ni Poy eh totoo haha! So the curious me started to check google for some insights and I wanna share these to all of you too.

Things you need:
1.     Partner of the opposite sex – CHECK!
2.     Folic Acid – Madami nito sa drugstore – CHECK!
3.     Cassava (wild yam) – Madami naman nito sa supermarket – CHECK!
4.     Milk to drink – Dami nito anywhere – CHECK!
5.     Fertility awareness chart – this is a bit hard for me because since I gave birth to Mimay, slightly irregular na menstruation ko :(
Read on…

1. Learn Fertility Awareness and how to monitor the female cycle to pinpoint the optimal time for intercourse. Having sex at the fertile time of the cycle is necessary to learn how to conceive twins (or even one baby).

2. Take folic acid daily. Folic acid is important for any healthy pregnancy, and it has also been shown to increase the likelihood of conceiving twins--an additional one woman out of 176 taking folic acid will bear twins, as compared to women not taking the supplement. If you want to have twins, start taking folic acid at least one month before conception.

3. Eat cassava root, a type of wild yam found in Africa. In a region in Africa where cassava is a staple of the local diet, women have the highest rate of twins found anywhere in the world. Many nutrition researches agree that eating this yam increases ovulation.

4. Drink milk and eat beef to increase the odds of having twins. According to Dr Gary Steinman, lead scientist in a medical study of twins, women who have a milk-based diet are more likely to conceive twins naturally than their vegan counterparts. It is thought that natural properties in milk may stimulate the ovaries, encouraging the production of multiple eggs for conception.

5. Keep nursing your infant or toddler while you try to conceive twins naturally. According to one study, women who are still breastfeeding and yet fertile are slightly more likely to produce twins.

6. Gain a little weight. Women with slightly higher fat percentages and those who are a little overweight are more likely to have twins. Don't overdo it, however--your health is especially important during pregnancy.

7. Have a family history of fraternal twins. This one is out of your control, but if the mother has fraternal twins in her family, she is more likely to have twins of her own.

But I think the best thing to do is to PRAY, that's the most effective! If we are meant to have twins, thy will be done =)

WHY I LOVE POY - Part 9

Life is really more beautiful if you have a husband like Poy. Palo talaga ko sa pwet nito pero I still want to share. If ever di nako makapag blog in the next days, it only means binasag na ni Poy ang laptop ko para di ko na sya ma-blog haha!!

Last night, we we’re talking about Naynay and Mimay’s flight to Pinas.

Naynay: Nani naitawag mo ba sa Emirates yung upuan ni Mimay para makakahiga sya?
Nani: Opo, narequest ko na. Online pwede pumili ng seat. Yung sa may bassinet seat pinili ko.
Poy to me: Bi ano yung bassinet? Shampoo??
Nani:  Speechless.
Poy: Ano nga? Lotion?
Nani: Tumbling!!!

Infairness to hubby, he said this time he was really joking lang. Katunog daw kasi ng bassinet ang Vaseline.
Hahaha!! Ang saya talaga ng buhay with my husband around =)

For everyone’s info, this is the bassinet seat.
A place for your little one inside the airplane to sleep, play and eat. The bassinet also offers a convenient place to change the baby. Hindi sya shampoo or lotion ok? Haha!

AGUILAR’S AND MIMAY’S SHOOT

I’m too excited to share these photos to all of you! These were taken last Friday by our dear friend Lyn. The experience was so memorable and these photos will be forever cherished.
I will never get tired of looking at all these photos over and over again. It makes me think more that life is indeed very beautiful especially if you have these two people in your life. Life is perfect, yes it is truly perfect!

And how can you ask for more if you have a super bright, kiriray (and pretty if I may say too) baby like this on top of a perfect and loving husband? God is good, HE is really good. All praises only to Him!

We call her “Precious”… our priceless “Treasure”

ANOTHER BALONEY POST

Warning: This one is super nonsense. If you’re a person who gets easily bored with nonsense, stop reading now.
Coming to and from work, I am taking a private coaster and I am sharing this coaster with people coming from different companies inside Jebel Ali. Jebel Ali is like a BIG industrial park with companies and offices of different kinds.

I have this one guy/gay (whatever) bus mate who’s calling me as “ang babaeng walang bahid dungis”. I laughed really hard when I first heard that.

Haha!

Happy Thursday everyone!

FEBRUARY MAKES ME SICK

Saw the calendar in my office table this morning and my most feared month officialy starts today. The thought of sending Mimay in the airport with Naynay really makes me feel so sick! Nasusuka ako na naiiyak at the same time. Ang bigat bigat sa pakiramdam that I want to become selfish na lang and let Mimay stay here with us and I’ll just look for a nanny that will take care of her. But the other side of me is telling that kawawa my baby if we’ll do that.

Last Friday, we went to our church service and the pastor’s message was about claiming the answers to our prayers because all things are possible with Him. I know that. Ever since I gave my life to Jesus, my worries, angst, bitterness and fears, all are entrusted to Him. Lately, me and hubby do not pray and ask for a particular request to Him. What we always say is that, “IKAW napo mag-decide for us, for our family, because we know YOU love us and YOU always wants to bless us. We entrust SOLELY everything to YOU.” I just can’t help not to feel sad thinking na magkakahiwalay na naman kami ng anak ko. Feeling ko talaga maloloka ako pag bumalik na si ineng sa Pinas.

So ayun while praying in my seat, I was crying too much talaga because I want to give and lay all my hurts to the Lord. Then I saw my baby looking strangely at me and went like this:
Nakiki-iyak din sya! I guess she’s feeling the ‘pain’ too =’(

Mimay anak,
We love you so much neng. Konting tiis pa and we promise you, magkakasama-sama tayo nila Dadee soon. We just have to prepare everything for you. I willl miss you anak. How I wish I can stop the days and forever na lang na February 1.
Love you baby,
Mamee

ANO YUN NAYNAY?

When Poy and I came here in Dubai, we usually observe Filipino toddlers na english speaking. As in fluent and slang na magnonose bleed ka talaga if you will talk to them. Hubby’s always telling me that he wants Mimay to be like that. Cute nga naman kasi. But after sometime I thought that it will be difficult since my mommy is the one taking care of Mimay and hindi naman nag eenglish ang mommy ko. And what’s worse is that since she came from Quezon province, matindi ang accent ni mother. (But I super love my mommy, she’s still the best!)
So when Mimay came here with us, we patiently taught her SIMPLE English words and gradually, she’s learning it.

Scenario 1: Mimay holding her wrapped candy/chocolate
Before -> Mimay: Mi bukas!
Now-> Mimay: Mi open! (Open pronounced as OH-PEN! Oh ha may accent!)

Scenario 2: While washing Mimay’s feet.
Before -> Mimay: Paa dume! (how barriotic anak!)
Now-> Mimay: Dirty feet! (Sosyalness!)

Scenario 3: Mimay calling naynay.
Mimay: Naynay naynay where u? (Text ito?)

So it only goes to show that yes, it’s still possible for our Mimay to learn speak in English. Not until I heard this last night:

Mimay: Mami milp milp! (before, she calls it “dede”. She’s just learning to say milk now.)
Nani: Anak it’s milk.
Mimay to her Naynay: Naynay milp!
Naynay: Neng, melk ok? Hindi milp, melk! Melk!
Mimay: Anuyun?

I laughed in tears! Maloloka ako sa mag lolang to!
