I WANNA STOP

…counting!

If you noticed in my previous blog entries, when Mimay and Naynay came here in Dubai, I started posting blogs about our weekly escapades. It’s more of a photoblog summarizing all our Dubaiventures. But after 4 weeks, I felt that this is also coming like a countdown to my grief that’s why I stopped. I don’t want to count the weeks anymore. Although it seems very impossible as long as my kalendaryo sa mundo! Hayz ;’(
We only have 38 days remaining with our daughter, more than 5 weeks left for us to be with her. As much as I want her to stay here with us, situations are difficult as of now. Nobody will take care of Mimay since Naynay had to be back in Pinas for many reasons. One of those is that her visa will soon end. Husband and I are both not comfortable in getting a nanny here for Mimay. Kawawa yung yaya I’m sure! And Mimay will surely look for her Naynay din. So it would be very unfair for Mimay coz we’re out for almost 12 hours a day.
I just pray that God will move miraculously in our family. Whatever HIS will be done.

Bro, ikaw na po ang bahala. We are entrusting everything to you. We trust you. Just please give me tons of strength. Please Lord show me and Poy that your plans are always great. And most of all, I pray Lord that everything will be alright for Mimay too. I pray that she will not get mad to us for putting her in this kind of situation. Lastly po, will it be possible for us to win a house and lot in Pinas and a scholarship for Mimay’s Aviation Course so that we don’t have to stay here long? Thanks po. Amen.

SOME MORE FAB BUYS FOR MY DALAGA

Here are some more proof that I am a sobrang changed person na talaga. Shopping is now always about Jemimah.

Blouses, skirt and shorts were all from Max dahil their on SALE =)
See how cute they are with our Mimay:
While this super cute feeding set is from Ikea. Nice nice design no? My baby hasn’t seen this yet kasi she was sleeping when we bought this. But I’m sure she’ll love this.
I’m so excited for this year’s DSF (Dubai Shopping Festival) which will commence on January 20 and will last for 32 days. Apart from tax-free shopping, huge discounts will be everywhere in Dubai. Oh I’m losing my composure here!

POTTY TRAINING NO MORE

Even before Mimay’s coming here in Dubai, one of my major plans is to potty train her the soonest possible time. It’s a big step for a toddler like her and for a first time mom like me. I want to be a major part of this very special milestone in her life. I was planning to get her a potty chair when one of my friends told me that Mimay’s too young for toilet training. I can start it daw when she’s like 2.5 yrs old or older. This was supported by the facts I read from www.mayoclinic.com. There’s no need to rush it or else potty training will only take longer. So I just brushed off the idea of this potty training and thought to just wait for the right time.

One time, I called from office to naynay’s mobile to check on Mimay.
Mimay in background: Mamee mamee mamee!!
Nani: Ha?

I was like, huh?! This is because Mimay’s pooping schedule is during morning time while I am in the office. And during my off days, hindi naman sya napupu or hindi ko lang nanonotice. Hay this is what you get for being a working mom.

After confirming from my mommy, I learned that Mimay has been defecating in the toilet since she came here in Dubai last November. She was 1 year and 7 months pa lang that time! I was really surprised!

What’s important is that my baby learned to use the toilet on her own! Ang bongga db? As in she never poops on her diapers anymore. She would call me, her naynay or her dadee’s attention when she wants to go to the toilet. Clap clap clap for my baby girl!
Dearest anak,
Mamee’s so proud of you! You’re really a big girl now (sigh!). Not too fast my dear ha? Baka di makahabol si mamee and dadee =) We love you baby!

MIMAY’S HAIRCUT STORY

Mimay had her first haircut 2 days after her 1st birthday. I was very hesitant then to bring her in the kid’s salon because I was nanghihinayang to her long locks. But due to insistent public requests, I gave in. We brought her to Hair Play in Festival Mall Alabang. The ambiance is great for kids. Built-in car serves as the child’s chair with an LCD monitor infront showing different cartoons such as Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Sesame Street and the ever famous Barney. This is a nice idea so that the child will not mind the hairdresser cutting her hair.

She looks very much like Dora no? Hair Play is highly recommended by yours truly. Staffs there are patient and you know your child is really in safe hands. Hair cut cost is P285 while bangs’ trimming is P175.

9 months after, our Mimay dear had her second haircut. I was this time very very very hesitant to cut her hair. Long hair looks good on her and it’s much easier to manage. I can just tie them and ok na. But naynay insisted to have it trimmed para daw maganda pag humaba. Wagi na naman ang lola, fine.

So last Thursday after office, Naynay, Dadee, Mamee and Mimay went to Kiddy Kutz in Fun City Reefmall. It’s a grooming salon built especially for kids. They have a total of 8 branches all over UAE. It’s actually located inside a gaming arcade so the place is very ideal for kids.

This is the salon’s façade:
Rates are posted in their entrance door. They do not accept cash but instead you have to buy a card with a minimum worth of AED 60 (Php720). Since the cost for cutting is only AED 35 (Php 420), the remaining amount can be use in toddler rides, games, etc.
The hairdresser is a kabayan na parang wala sa mood. May menstruation ata si ate! But still I commend her for a job well done on Mimay’s hair. Here are some of the photos inside the salon with Mimay’s stage parents. We’re so proud of Mimay because she was very much behaved. There was this Syrian toddler kasi before Mimay’s turn na super cry while having his hair cut.

She looks very lady like after the cut! Anak you’re so grown up na =)
the back view
I owe a treat to my baby Mimay for behaving well inside the salon. With that, we headed to Fun City’s play zone while Naynay and Dadee went to the supermarket located in the ground floor of the mall to get some groceries.
Fun City has this indoor playground with great facilities such as ball pool, slides, swings and many other else. Entrance cost is AED 25 (Php 300) per kid. This is one of my favorite and memorable moments with my dear baby. Super bonding kami! I enjoyed her dancing, singing, comments, facial expressions and all her funny antics! Coming from Mimay’s very own mamee: my daughter is so biba! Thank you Papa Jesus! Let me share some of our photos inside the play zone.

BEFORE AND AFTER

This was me in the office BEFORE the “PAG-SABOG!” incident. In high spirits as always!
And these are my AFTER the “PAG-SABOG!” incident photos, when I learned that I need to pay the AED 500 because of my kakirihan.
TULALA
Nani: Yari ako kay Poy!
BWISET
Nani: Ang shunga shunga ko!
Hayz that’s life! Anyways, I’m a bit ok now because of my friend/office mate Mace with our Safety Officer Mr. Prakash. They look so adorable together. Meet CMS’ very own Mt. Makiling and Burj Khalifa. Cute no? This made me smile now =)

SABOG!

Naman, what a morning! Got this slip from our Accounts Department which says that I need to request advance cash worth AED 500 (Php 6,000) to pay for the repair of the electrical board in our office. And take note, it’s under my name because I have to repay it in due time.
Lam nyo bakit? This is the culprit:
Every morning, I do hair ironing to perfectly refine my hair. Since our office timing is at 9:15 am and our coaster service arrives at 8:30 am, I still have ample time to make paganda. Sayang naman ang 45 minutes, right? This particular morning, while ironing my hair, a strong sound of blast was heard in the electrical socket and some spark from my hair iron. I was very much startled that I had to throw the hair iron! Thank God I’m safe. After sometime, burnt smell is all over the place with matching usok! Kagulo sa office, as in!

What a day! Kalowka! Eto ang napapala ng malalandi waaaahh!!

I SO LOVE 10!

It’s 10th of the month again, my favorite date eversince the world began. It’s my birthdate and became my wedding date too after 24 years. I woke up feeling a bit sad because husband didn’t greet me which he usually does every 10th. I didn’t greet him too, bawi lang hmp! But when I opened my Facebook page, this made my heart melt.
He’s the cheesiest man alive! Napahiya naman ako sa aking tampururot kuno. Who will not fall in love over and over again to this man? Ang haba ng hair ko talaga! Can’t stop myself from looking at our most fave wedding photos 31 months back.
To my other half bibi Poy,
Sorry I didn’t greet you this morning. Akala ko kasi you forgot this day. I’m sorry. And thank you so much for that very sweet post in FB. I was soooo kilig! Feeling ko jowa days pa din tayo. Thank you for all your love to me, to Mimay and to my family. Being married with you for almost 3 years is surely the best days of my life. Very effective eh ;) I am just so proud of having you as my husband, you are really the best! Imagine natiis mo ko =)
Kidding aside bi, thanks for being very understanding, patient, loving, supportive and generous. When we got married, I am ofcourse the happiest bride but at the other side of my mind, may kaba. I’m anxious na baka pag mag asawa na tayo eh may magbago. Baka mag-iba ka ng treatment sa akin just like the usual story in MMK ;) Pero you’re really different and I will forever thank God for giving you to me. I am one of the few that can say, “napaka sarap ng buhay may asawa!”, it’s all because of you bi. Salamat at mahal na mahal kita.
