FAB FIND by ABBY: NEUTROGENA OIL FREE EYE MAKE UP REMOVER

Meet my super kikay sister-in-christ and kumare, Abby! We have known each other since our highschool days but became friends on our 3rd year highschool. We became closer and more click during college days when she transferred to Letran together with Cha.  Both of them are my most kikay and pretty friends! Even if they’re in Arts and Sciences Department while I’m on Engineering Department, nothing can stop us from always seeing each other in school para mag chismisan =) I miss our isaw days gurls!! So anyway, here is Saudia’s dependable FA share of her own fab find. Thanks sis! Cu soon here in DXB!

I super duper like Neutrogena Oil Free Eye make up remover because it erases my make up perfectly. It’s like erasing marks of pencil in a piece of paper. Really! Even waterproof and long wearing makeup! It’s very gentle and lightweight on the skin not to mention inexpensive.

I always wear makeup almost everyday as a job requirement and this product really helps me when I just came home from duty. My way of using this is that I make three dabs of this product in 2 square cottons and wipe it over my eyes first and the other side of the cotton on the rest of my face.

In Singapore, I bought this for SGD12 but here in Jeddah, KSA I think it is SR14.

ANOTHER HAPPY WEEKEND FOR NANI =)

It was indeed another perfect weekend for me! Let me share what made this wife overly happy =)

Since we only got 1 day off from work every week, hubby and I made sure we spend it right. Before we doze off last Thursday after Win’s bday celebration (i’ll be posting this soon), we watched this suspense movie entitled Piranha. Warning: don’t watch this with kids, because it’s kinda porno at first. But the movie is entertaining and will keep you awake until the end because of the gross scenes. Especially when killer piranhas ate the human flesh, it’s very sickening promise. It’s the worst way to die for sure!

Came Friday morning, we had a fun skype moment with our dearest baby. Kaloka may ka-kissing scene ang dalaga namin. It’s actually his neighbor playmate Budong which is just a month older than Mimay. As in super smack sila sa lips and take note, si Mimay pa namin ang nahabol kay Budong! I almost fainted!

Then, we went to Burjuman Mall to attend the church service in All Nations Full Gospel until 2pm. We were supposed to meet up with friends after but for some reasons we decided instead to have a lunch date to celebrate in advance our 28th month as husband and wife =)

We went to this resto famous for serving multiple cuisines. It has actually many branches here in Dubai but we opt to try the Al Rigga Branch. The interior looks urbane and nice plus the aroma of Indian, Chinese, Thai, Filipino and Italian food is very inviting. But even before we enter the restaurant, I told husband that we should eat Filipino food only. I’m afraid of trying new cuisines. Sobrang gutom na ko para mag risk! :)

I think, it’s better to dine here in group because according to the waitress, their servings are humongous so it’s not practical to order different meals all at the same time. We might end up wasting the food. So we decided to order only Shrimp Sinigang, Fried Hamor (Lapulapu) and dessert. While waiting, the attendant served the mushroom soup and buttered bread.

When our order came, I immediately tasted the sinigang soup and I swear it’s very delicious! I think the chef is also a Kabayan. Pinoy na pinoy talaga yung taste. Super asim and it has many veggies din.
that's my gwapong gwapong bibi
Next is the Fried Hamor with fries. It’s kinda big nga for a sharing couple but it’s surely very meaty, tasty and crunchy! We didn’t finish the whole thing because we’re so full already. We wanted to try the strawberry cheesecake for our dessert but we can’t take it anymore na.
We paid our bill with a high-pitched burp and full smile =) Sarap ng food plus very cheap pa, panalo!
After our late lunch, we headed straight to City Centre for our weekly grocery needs. Since it is husband who is incharge of our grocery budget, I was just pushing the cart for him while he was checking out the meat, vegetables, fruits and “others” section.

When we were about to go to cab waiting area, I saw this boutique which made my eyes “unintentionally” shine, twinkle and sparkle ;) And I think hubby noticed it.

Poy: “Bi, nine west oh. Tara tingin ka.”
Nani: “Ah wag na bi, titingin lang pala. Tara uwi na tayo.”
Poy: “Hinde bi, syempre pag may gusto ka bibilhin natin basta dito na….”

Even before Poy ended whatever he wanted to say, nasa loob na ko ng nine west. Ang dali ko kaya kausap hihihi =) As usual, I was on my aligaga mode to find something to buy. I was trying on the flats kaya lang it looks very simple considering the price. I went instead on the bags section and found this perfect convertible bag! 1 piece lang sya so I immediately grabbed it. With my fingers crossed, I asked hubby if the bag is ok.

Nani: “Ganda nga bi kaya lang mahal eh no? Wag na, pinakita ko lang syo.”
Poy: “Hindi bi, nine west naman kaya ok lang yan. Kesa yung mura tapos di ka….”

Again, even before he finished whatever he wanted to say, I’m already in the cashier. Oh db sobrang dali ako kausap? :)
happy nani!

And to top it off, when we arrived home, Poy prepared my requested macaroni soup for dinner. Lucky lucky wife here! Oi infairness, I washed the casserole naman after he cooked =)

Bibi,
Happy happy 28th wedding monthsary tomorrow! I love u with all my heart.
I am so blessed to have you as my other-half.
Love you so much,
Nani

HEALTHY MIMAY

I remember during our first few months here in Dubai, I was so problematic of Mimay’s appetite. According to my mommy, Mimay’s not gaining weight because she seldom asks for milk. What’s worst is she’s not so much into solid foods like rice. She prefers mashed food and soup only. This really bothered and worried me too much. It made me cry more especially when my Kumareng Layds told me that, maybe Mimay is also adjusting since it’s less than a month only when we left Pinas. Maybe Mimay is ofcourse longing for our presence kaya wala syang gana =( How I wanted to go home na that time!
she's like that back June 2010 =(

Since it’s very impractical and impossible for me to go home, I told my mom to visit Mimay’s pedia and ask for some vitamins. Dra. Fonte of CMC hospital prescribed Heraclene to increase our baby’s desire for milk or food. It’s actually a capsule where you need to open and put the powder directly to the milk or food.  After weeks, my mom and siblings noticed that gradually nagiimprove nga. Mimay’s becoming matakaw na daw and she particulary likes squash, spaghetti and sopas.  She took this capsule just for a month.

improving level - nataba na =)

And now, may long term effect ata ang Heraclene na yun o talagang sumosobrang takaw lang si Mimay. She’s gaining more weight and can finish 5-6 cans of 1.6kg Progress Gold in 1 month! Kaloka! Just barely seeing her in skype, feeling ko super bigat na nya talaga. Siksik kasi and she looks prettier! Happy mamee nani! ;)

According to my in-laws, Mimay’s getting heavier every week and she asks for milk very often. Ang bagsik daw sa gatas haha! Then my sister told me also that she’s teasing Mimay as “Mimay taba!” and super laugh lang ang dalaga namin. Hay I’m missing her more!

How I wish November 14 na so that I can personally attest na mataba at mabigat na talaga si Mimay namin! =)

I will soon post new photos of mas improved Mimay =)

WHAT’S WITH THIS ANION?

Have you ever heard of a sanitary napkin that reduces stress, eliminates bacteria, eradicates bad odor, treats inflammation, strengthens immunity, enhances metabolism, enhances hormonal balance and removes fatigue? A sanitary napkin which has negative-ion strip embedded on it? And most of all a sanitary napkin which costs P300 for an 8 piece pack and P360 for a 30 piece pack pantyliners?

All these things made me curious as well that’s why I am currently trying this Love Moon Anion product even if it’s very costly. Let’s do the math, usually in Pinas the pantyliner pack is less than P50 for 30pcs and here it’s like P12 per piece! And the sanitary pad is like P38 per piece! Mahal no? Actually I’m thinking of going back to Modess na lang hehe;p

But anyway, reading from the internet it surely has many positive effects. Below are just some.

“Anion (Negative Ion) on the Love Moon Anion Sanitary Napkin able to suppresses the survival and multiplication of bacteria on the sanitary napkin. Anion in Love Moon Sanitary Napkin release up to 5800 negative ions per cubic cm which has been proven in numerous scientific studies to protect against genital diseases, eliminating harmful bacteria, odor, enhance comfort and improve your health.”

I have also watched a clip from ‘Kapuso mo Jessica Soho’ about the effect of this product to a baby suffering from a severe skin disease. The negative-ion strip daw inside the sanitary pad has a miraculous healing effect against bacteria. If it’s true, katuwa naman because compared to dermatologist fee and medicines, infairness cheaper ang Anion ;)

So far, after using it for almost a week now, honestly, I haven’t experienced any extra-ordinary change. Well, maybe I have to use it longer pa.

For all those interested chika babes, you may contact my Dubai based friends Leila and Chantelle for a sample product demo. Just PM me, jhanilaguilar@gmail.com and I’ll send you their contact numbers. Ciao!

CELEBRATIONS IN DUBAI: JOY’S BIRTHDAY!

27 years ago, an extra-ordinary and rare specie was created by God to be a friend to everyone =) Rare because this woman embodies beauty, brains and a kind heart, rolled into one. This beauty title holder turned wife and mom is no other than, my ever dearest, beautiful inside and out kumare, Joy!
Joy with her pretty baby Lexie!
Celebrant: Joy Alcantara-Paunlagui
Birthday: October 2, 1983
Age: Still hot at 27!
Most Loved: Aside from food (hehe jowk!), it’s gotta be her family and siblings, friends, work, hubby Alex and their ever adorable daughter Lexie!

Everyone had a blast from Joy’s personally prepared buffet dinner meals. She is a superb cook by the way, it runs in the blood I think. I was literally swallowing my saliva when I saw all these:

PORK KALDERETA – this is Joy’s pamatay na recipe! As in you will forget your name when you get to taste her super sarap na kaldereta. I can eat it everyday and I will never get “sawa” of eating it. Sauce pa lang, winner na!

FRIED CHICKEN – mare’s version of fried chicken is different. It looks grilled at first pero fried pala. I had two big portion of this =) I’m a chicken lover eh.

TUNA PASTA – perfect tuna pasta ever! This was prepared by mare’s pretty kikay sister Eileen, it runs in the blood talaga. Very creamy and tasty.

CHICKEN SOTANGHON – It may look very simple kasi sotanghon is a common dish di ba? Pero swear ang sarap din nito. It has lots of chicken strips na bongga sa taste!

PORK LIEMPO – yummy grilled marinated pork = high blood! I just tasted one promise =)

RELYENONG BANGUS – I don’t eat bangus, I actually hate it. I’m crying talaga everytime bangus ang ulam back in Pinas. My husband, family, even my mother-in-law knew about it. They always make sure to prepare other dish for me if bangus is served in our dining table. I had a trauma kasi when I tasted milk fish na lasang lupa, yikes! But when I came here in Dubai, I bravely tried to taste bangus and wow ang sarap pala! Even if it’s frozen sa mga supermarket, the taste is still good. So with that, I really enjoyed this relyeno prepared by Ate Yeng. Nag take-home pa ko actually! =)

DINAKDAKAN – whatever it is hehe. I don’t know also if I spelled it right. I wasn’t able to taste it so I have nothing to say =)

CAKE – the celebrant had a red ribbon ube roll and M&S meringue cake na over sa sarap! I have to make a special blog talaga of Marks & Spencer’s cakes and cookies. They all taste so good. Soon soon soon!

We went home bloated but happy as we gathered to celebrate the special day of our dear friend Joy. Lasing kami sa busog at saya =)

Happy happy happy birthday mare! You are such a blessing in our life, you know that. You’ve been so kind to me and Poy. I love you much much much!!

Sorry no photos here. The camera was corrupted for some reasons =(

FAB FIND by MALEN: FREEMAN CLAY MASK

Another fab find from my pretty pal Malen! She is one of my sweetest and thoughtful friend from Nissan, I love her dearly. Attention to all single and hot men out there, this super flawless, chinese-blood bratinella is very much single and available =) Pila na!
For my face, this Freeman Facial Claymask is my choice. I prefer the avocado and oatmeal variant kasi oily ang face ko. The last time I used this was almost 2 years ago.
You can even apply it to underarms, may pampaputi ata ito at nakaka- smooth. Male-lessen ang chicken skin sa underarms.

MISSING OUR BABY

I was browsing my sent mails when I saw this old mail addressed for Mimay. Actually, husband created a gmail account for Mimay so that according to him, if we are missing our daughter so much, we can just make a letter and send to that address as if Mimay can read it na. We’re praning parents, really!

Let me rewrite the content here so that Mimay will not have a hard time to read when she come across this blog. This was the time when our baby was confined for almost 4 days in the hospital due to amoebiasis, again! My heart was really torn into pieces thinking that we can’t be with her during that time where she needs us most. I had to call every now and then to check her condition and just to reassure myself that everything is ok with Mimay. According to my siblings, she doesn’t look sick naman. Mimay’s still very active and kooolet with the doctors and nurses. This made me stop crying na, I know our baby is a brave and strong little girl =)
To my dearest Mimay,
Hi baby! I miss u so much! I made this letter for you so that when you grow up, I have a proof that even though we’re here in Dubai to work, me and dadee misses you a lot! I just want you to know baby that mamee’s dying inside thinking that you are in the hospital right now. Lord knows how much I wanted to be with you right at this moment.

For now kailangan nga lang muna natin magsacrifice lahat para mkapag work kami dito at mag earn ng maganda.
Basta be brave baby ha? Lagi tyo mgpplay at papasyal J
Mimay ingat ka palagi jan ha? I love u much baby!! So so so much!
My officemate here Molly (Indian) is asking me what am I doing? I told her I’m making a letter for you, she was astounded thinking how will you read this letter? I just told her that I wanted to make this so that you know mamee’s always thinking of you.
Take care baby and get well! No words can describe how much I miss and love you!
See you soon baby!

Love,
Mamee Nani
